The flight AK364 touched down safely at Denpasar Airport at precisely 7.oopm local time (actually there is no time difference between KL and Bali). We proceeded straight to immigration and my goodness the process was smooth without any hanky panky and the immigration officer was very friendly. Custom clearance was also smooth. Next was the luggage and to complete the easy flow of the process so far, luggage claim was also without any hassle. Judging from the large number of arrivals from various destinations, I would give 10 out 10 for the airport handling system.
Being a smoker, I couldn't wait to get out of the building. Imagine after 3 hours without a puff. God knows. On the way out, we passed by a row of money changers and I noticed the exchange rate was far better than in Malaysia. This is one piece of advise to those who are thinking of travelling to Bali - get the Rupiahs in Bali and NOT in KL.
We took an airport taxi to our resort, Bali Dynasty Resort, which is just 10 minutes away. The fare was Rp45000 (equivalent to RM16. Don't believe it? Better do). The same distance from Penang Airport to Bayan Lepas would cost around RM30 - RM40.
Around 7.45pm we checked-in at our hotel, Bali Dynasty Resort, Kuta which I pre-booked via internet. Upon arrival we decided to upgrade our room type to a family studio and had to pay additional of USD160.00 for four nights. We thought it was okay as long as the kids have their own bed to sleep on.
Although we felt tired after the journey, the feeling was simply washed away by the friendly welcome from the staff of the resort.
